The Bloody Hand

I think this guy might be on drugs. Either
that or he's been invaded by the spirit of some drunk, angry
freak of a man. This music could seriously kill a person. I
could see my mom up and dying after listening to Frog Eyes.
She would literally look at me with those eyes and say, "Why?"
Why would I expose her to wailing and bellowing and noise? Sometimes
artsy just goes too far, and I think this one pushed my personal
boundaries of tolerance. There are certainly some "moments,"
but I'm not willing to slog through song after song of discordant
nonsense to get to a minute of swirling indie rock that I could
find in way more abundance on twenty other records on my ipod.
Next someone will have to explain early Sonic
Youth and Tom Waits to me. |
