I'm like the only person my age who doesn't
have some frame of reference for this album. It completely missed
me somehow. The first time I ever heard of this band was at
my junior prom when "Pour Some Sugar on Me" was popped into
a tape deck by some squealing girls. I think I reacted with
a "wow this sucks," or something like that. I'm still a little
put off by the echo thing going on with their music, but people
do seem to this particular album is a classic. I worked for
Def Leppard's label and this one was sitting at the back of
some drawer somewhere. I grabbed it to familiarize myself with
everyone else's past. I don't think I've actually listened to
it yet, but am relatively familiar with most of the tunes from
years of subsequent exposure. I still don't get it. |
