dixie Dixie
Dixie
I can't remember for the life of me why I bought this one. I seem to recall thinking that someone from another band I listened to was somehow related to Avail, but that apparently isn't the case. The title Dixie is misleading, so don't come looking for any country fried rock here. Instead, there's an album filled with thrash, skate punk. It's not incredibly melodic, but is energetic and the singing is clear and set forward in the mix (which is always a sticking point for me in some punk stuff). Yeah, nobody's gonna sell their home and follow these guys around the country based on this album, but they do have the thrash tearjerker "Beliefs Pile" and a very Killdozer version of John Cougar's "Pink Houses."
