LP
Oy with the instrumental first track. Luckily
they move right into the slinky and sexy "Primitive"
on track two. The rest of the album is a little too billowy
and echoey for my taste, but I'm the guy who just doesn't get
My Bloody Valentine,
so what the hell do I know? I guess I like my music a little
dirtier, or a little edgier or a little something that isn't
this, uh, pleasant. Sure, that's what this album is: pleasant.
It sounds really good, and has some flavors of Urge Overkill
and some Brit pop (despite being from Brooklyn), but too often
this stuff is more wallpaper than solid furniture. |
