Surprisingly upscale,
this brewery is one step above your typical city brewpub. Decorated
in that weird early nineties fashion that suggests the architects
didn't quite finish the plans, duct work and lights stick precariously
out of the ceiling and exposed girders jut out here and there. Despite
that, the lunch crowd is mostly midtown business men and woman who
come there to chow down on the pan-Asian fare that includes things
like pan-seared tuna and nicoise salads. One never expects to pay
$19 for an entree in a place that serves beer, but midtown is just
that whacked. Nobody claims to have tasted the beer at this joint,
but we're pretty sure it tastes exactly the same as every other fake
brewery in Manhattan. [MF]
