The term "gourmet"
is used way too loosely these days. What the hell makes something
"gourmet?" Is it a matter of using expensive ingredients?
No, cuz there's a Frugal Gourmet, and that person's a "gourmet"
and doesn't use gold dust in his soufflés. I mean, there's gourmet
coffee for Christ's sake! Anyway, Tom ain't a gourmet, unless, of
course, stale, cold chicken sandwiches and bad pre-made wraps makes
one an authentic gourmet. And don't even get me started on the word
cafe... [MF]
