Apparently this is
one of the biggest country and western bars in New York City. To the
casual observer it looks like a bizarre mess, with a huge stuffed
buffalo over the bar and the general feel of the Rolling Thunder coaster
at Disneyland. The food is of the Tex-Mex variety, but the real draw
is the big basket of peanuts by the door which every lousy drunk in
the place seems to tip over and spill on the floor. Live country music
is played earlier on in the evening and late night is filled the crappy
canned sounds of off-key Texan yodeling. The actual space is so weird,
it has to be seen to be believed. [MF] |
