Just like its West Side
counterpart, John's UES restaurant features a more upscale dining
experience than the downtown original, but with the same addictive
brickoven delicacies. The restaurant itself is typical of the UES,
with its basic lack of personality and lights that are just a wee
bit too bright, but, again, who cares about surroundings when you're
gobbling the perfect crust and perfectly spiced tomato sauce? [MF]
