This is the closest the UES gets to a legit steakhouse. Normally that wouldn't be saying much, but Dan Maxwell's is certainly worth the trip. Not only does the help dote on you as though you're the most important person in the place, they'll serve you up a nice steak, with good sides, quick fast in a hurry. We hate to say it, this place may be a little too pricey (and a little too classy) for the neighborhood. Surrounded by horrific high-school bars, Dan Maxwell's may not pack in the crowds, but people who want a good steak, good atmosphere, good service, all at a decent price compared to the other steakhouses in the city, this is your beef and potato wonderland.
