Step down into this
East Village Italian fishery and one feels as though Tuscany has been
transplanted to a subterranean space just outside the hustle and bustle
of trendy-central. Well, this might be a bit of an exaggeration, but
one will find decent fish and pasta at very reasonable prices. One
will also find crowds of young locals waiting for tables in the larger-than-usual
space, free mussels in the lobby that should scare the crap out of
anybody who knows anything about botulism and waiters who can pronounce
the complicated Italian menu items like old pros. [MF]
