Despite being panned
by every legit reviewer in the city, this Chelsea bayou eatery is
a little slice of New Orleans brought to the Crappy Apple. Surprisingly
good margaritas and Blackened Voodoo Beer make a perfect preamble
for their delicious crab cakes and bourbon Mahi Mahi special. At some
part during the evening, a live Dixieland band comes in and brings
with it a serious crowd of sixty-somethings who love to groove to
the slide trombone. Bring a large group of friends and enjoy the company
of the establishment's owner as he comes over and introduces himself
to everyone and asks if everyone is having a good time -- yes, I am,
thank you. [MF]
