One in a long line of
NYC bars that used to be something else before the East Village became
a haven for fine young hipsters. This place supposedly used to be
a pharmacy, but the kitsch factor is pretty much isolated to the back
room, where DJ's spin bad 70's music and some bandages and tongue
depressors sit on a shelf. What was probably a pretty cool bar at
one point has become pretty standard fair for the East Village, but
still retains enough charm (and smoke) to be a fun place when you've
had a few too many. [MF]
