Bagel Express AM 1804 2nd Ave., 212/426-5577 New York bagels with all the trimmings, including chocolate chip tofu cream cheese. Actually, that's just a rumor, but the to go or eat-in restaurant does have full-fat, low-fat, no-fat and tofu cream cheese in every flavor imaginable, along with great bagels and what some say are decent eggs and sandwiches. It's still a shock paying $3.50 for two bagels, but hey, it's either that or another round of Pop Tarts. [MF] |
