B. Doyle's [CLOSED] B, R website 302 W. 51st St., 212/541-7080 The B.B. in this bar's name must stand for boring and boisterous. Boring, of course, means that this joint doesn't elicit more than a faint yawn from your average customer. Boisterous, in this case, means that the only thing that can save you from the first B--stimulating conversation--is completely drowned out by the blaring stereo. We're not sure if the place picks up after happy hour, but we can't imagine anybody would make this place a destination after 8:00 PM or so. Throw in a couple sarcastic Irish barmaids, and some bland food and you have what amounts to an evening of blah. [MF] |
