Restaurant & Bom Bar B, R, K 17 Waverly Pl., 212/473-8888 First off, what the hell is a bom bar? I think it means schizophrenic in Thai or French, or whatever else this bar/restaurant/karaoke place pretends to be. Apparently this joint serves food, but nobody eats. Apparently they serve alcohol, but nobody is there to serve it. Apparently they have karaoke, but this makes absolutely no sense. Well, aside from horrible waitress service, weird metalhead, Euro bartenders and a mostly Asian crowd that looks as if you just crashed their private party, Apple isn't a bad place to hang out and drink a late night drink (that is, if you can get one.) Oh, and don't even think about staying a minute past closing time, or the dopes behind the bar will threaten you with bodily harm and a lifetime of Winger videos. [MF] |
